On the Saturday the Scouts took part in Archery, Survival Cooking, Pedal Cars, Low Rope Course, Climbing, Air Rifle Shooting, Water Rockets, Rafting, Cooking Bases, Assault Course, Wood Carving, Scrapheap Challenge, Branding and Human Skittles.
Competitions
On Sunday there were competitions running and our Scouts took part in two of the competitions.
- Scout Mountain Bike Challenge
- Scout County Cooking Competition
Scout Mountain Bike Challenge
Two teams of Scouts followed a muddy route through Bere Forest as part of the County Mountain Bike Challenge. They were given a list of checkpoints to find and had to map out a route and then find each checkpoint and get back as quickly as possible. One of the teams did extremely well and came 1st in the competition having found all the checkpoints in the shortest time. And they had the muddy bikes to prove it.
Scout County Cooking Competition
Gunners Troop entered two teams into the cooking competition and Bishops Waltham came 1st and 2nd! (out of the two teams which entered...). The cooking from the teams was of a high standard and the winning teams table presentation was something special considering this was under canvas on a wet day. There was a tablecloth, napkins, matching cutlery and even candles.
